Oct 15 - Oct 18, 2008 Transportation and Development Institute of ASCE's Pavement Conference Bellevue, WA You are invited to attend the ASCE's 2008 Airfield & Highway Pavements Conference to explore "Efficient Pavements Supporting Transportation's Future". If you are on the frontline and are constantly challenged to construct and rehabilitate airport and highway pavements that are durable, smooth, quiet, efficient, cost-effective and capable of supporting projected traffic operation, while minimizing closures during construction, this is the conference for you. More and more of the airfield and highway pavement industry is challenged to find cost-effective solutions to ensure long-term quality for its finished product. Successful use of new technology is often the key solution. As part of the Technical Session, distinguished presenters, addressing all areas of current thinking and experience, will cover New Technologies in Pavement Design, Evaluation of Pavements, New and Innovative Materials and New Construction Techniques. Workshops include: Back-to-Basics, which will explore current technology in airfield pavement engineering fundamentals and pavement thickness design for airfields and roadways. This workshop is aimed at the newer pavement design professional. Thickness Design, which will explore how to use the latest FAA and AASHTO thickness design procedures. A tour of Boeing's Everett Assembly Facility and of the runway at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) has also been planned.
